Changes to the Derby Library environment




There have been a few changes to the library environment at the Derby site, as we are now accommodating a patient waiting area as part of the vaccination programme.


The shelving and study areas have been moved around, and the book sequences changed slightly, but please feel free to ask a member of library staff if you need help finding things. There are no bookable rooms currently, and there is no access to the IT suite, however we have laptops available that you can use within the library, with 9 available docking stations.


The university networked computers are still available and we have plenty of private study tables. We aim to provide the same level of service as we normally do, but there may be more noise disruption within the main library area, so we apologise for that in advance. We hope to provide a quieter working area in the side room, where the University computers are located.


We are still operating the Test and Trace service, so please continue to register your arrival at the library counter, your co-operation with this is much appreciated.


Opening hours are not affected, and here is a reminder of our Christmas staffed hours:


Derby Site Opening


Closed - Friday 25th Dec

Open - Tuesday 29th, Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st December (9-5)

Closed - Friday 1st January.

Open as normal from Monday 4th January.

Burton Site

Closed from Friday 25th December, open as normal from Monday 4th January.
