Plant Guide
Snake Plant
Dracaena trifasciata
Sanseviera (or Snake Plant) is an easy to care for plant that will tolerate very low light. They can survive for weeks without water in low light conditions, so are great for offices. They will have stronger variegation (leave patterning) in more sunlight.
Water when the soil is completely dry, especially in winter it may only need water once a month. Overwatering will kill them quickly as it can cause root rot. Like cacti, they prefer well draining sandier soil. Fertilize with diluted feed a couple of times over spring/summer, not in winter.
They can survive in low light, but have stronger patterning in sun. They grow best with 8 to 10 hours of indirect sunlight, too much sun can scorch. Keep out of draughts and they won't tolerate any frost.
